Desk Secretary

Hieronymus’ desk secretary is the contemporary interpretation of the piece of furniture of the same name which is traditionally used to store personal correspondence. This unique piece of occasional furniture made from exquisite materials was developed together with a number of specialist craftspeople. Birch bark is used as the substrate for the body, which is then covered with cow horn. Many months of sophisticated workmanship are required until the horn has been sufficiently refined to the extent that it can be fitted. The interior with its drawers and compartments for personal correspondence and writing instruments is finished in Alcantara. It is the interplay of materials, design and superb workmanship that offers a fitting setting in which to store handwritten correspondence appropriately.
