Desk Case Lacquer

Hieronymus’ desk case is meticulously hand-crafted from exquisite materials and, as part of a sophisticated writing culture, is used to store A5 writing cards and envelopes. The body is made of wood, which is elaborately lacquered in nine layers and polished by hand between the layers to create the high-gloss finish. The interior is lined with Alcantara and offers a velvety feel. Created with sculptural aspirations, this object celebrates a conscious writing culture on the desk. It is the interplay of design, selected materials and masterful workmanship that characterises this vessel.
